2020 Volkswagen ID.3 Owner's Manual
The electric motor produces 204 hp and 310 Nm of torque. Battery has three options: 45 kWh (the hatchback travels 330 km on the WLTP cycle), 58 kWh (420 km) and 77 kWh (550 km). The torque is transmitted to the rear wheels. The dynamic performance of the 58kWh battery version is 3.4 s to city 60 km/h, 7.3 s to 100 km/h and a top speed of 160 km/h. It’s also worth noting the ideal weight distribution (50/50) between the axles, as well as a low center of gravity (due to the location of the battery), which together should have a positive impact on the handling of the electric car.
The ID.3 with the base battery can be charged with a 7.2-kilowatt AC charger and a 50-kilowatt DC charger (the 100-kilowatt for this version is optional), the medium version can be charged with 11/100-kilowatt chargers, and the version with the highest capacity battery can be charged with 11/125-kilowatt. The 58-kilowatt battery with a maximum of 100 kW of charger power can be topped up to a charge sufficient for 290 km of range.
Externally, the ID.3 differs significantly from other vehicles in the Volkswagen range. First and foremost due to the absence of a false radiator grille, diode trimmed headlights connected by an illuminated crossbar, as well as the profile with a long wheelbase and short overhangs (total length of the car is 4261 mm, wheelbase – 2765 mm).
