This vehicle is a mid-size crossover. Production began in 2002. Now the model is produced in Bratislava at the Volkswagen plant. This is the third Volkswagen SUV in history. It has a five-door body type. There are 3 generations of the car. The third became the flagship.
Developed on the innovative MLB platform. On the basis of which the Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga were made. Compared to its predecessor, the Touareg in the third generation weighs 106 kg less. It was achieved thanks to the use of aluminum during the production of the body. The capacity of the luggage compartment has increased by 113 liters. Fuel consumption per 100 km decreased. Due to the installed air suspension the body rises by 7 cm. (provided for off-road driving). The safety system of Touareg achieves high performance: the cruise control adapts to the movement of cars and signs on the road, automatically reduces speed on corners. Depending on the configuration, the engine power reaches from 231 to 340 horsepower. The base version assumes an engine with a displacement of 3 liters.
