The main drawback of the car, which is not accepted by the consumer, was the touch control buttons. Also, the car needs more options and driver assistance technologies.

The cost of the car will exceed the price of its predecessor. The standard model is not available for the US. The main competitors of the car in its segment were Dacia Sandero, Peugeot 208 and Toyota Yaris.

In 2024, the manufacturer also offers updated Golf GTI and Golf R.

The updated car attracts attention with an updated wheel design and is distinguished by an assortment of color palettes.

The interior of the car was not spared the changes either. On the central panel, the main updated element will be the touch screen of the multimedia system. Depending on the configuration, the infotainment display will have a diagonal of 12 inches. For improved versions, a 15-inch screen is provided, which is a characteristic feature of modern VW ID.7.
