The original Golf GTI debuted in 1975, setting the trend in the world of sporty supercharged hatchbacks. 2024 VW Golf GTI Technical characteristics

The GTI version is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The motor is equipped with a turbocharging system and has a power of 241 hp. The power unit is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic transmission or the latest six-speed manual transmission for the EA888 engine series, which Volkswagen has been equipping its cars with since 2007. Technically, the engine has not undergone any changes and is already installed on the car with the standard DCC adaptive damping system.

The two-liter TSI accelerates the car to the first hundred in 6.2 seconds, and the maximum speed of the Golf GTI is 250 km/h. The base of the car is also authentic to the standard model, the same MQB platform with a wheelbase of 2636 mm.

To lighten the mass, in the overall design of the car, the company’s engineers use parts made of aluminum float. Thanks to such technical solutions, the total weight of the sports hatchback is 1570 kg.

Exterior and interior

The main differences between the GTI and the regular VW Golf are the distinctive bright red stripe on the radiator grille and a set of additional equipment that is standard for all Volkswagen sports models:

• Rear-view mirrors and roof are also made in black glossy color
