2023 Volkswagen Golf GTI is a representative of the eighth generation of polar front-wheel drive hatchbacks from the German manufacturer. The main advantages of the updated car were its dynamic appearance and impressive driving dynamics.

The model will almost repeat the previous versions except for the presence of additional equipment 40th Anniversary Edition. The model is distinguished by the presence of a unique design along the sides of the hatchback.

Visually, the car has become flatter and more dynamic. Thanks to improved forms of external mirrors, smoothed corners of the body and a spoiler on the roof, it was possible to improve aerodynamic performance. The red stripe on the radiator grille remained characteristic of the Golf GTI, which for the new model was supplemented with an LED transverse line.

The lower part has a black air intake in the form of massive honeycombs. Fog lights are combined with LED lights.
18-inch wheels are provided as standard equipment.

2023 Volkswagen Golf GTI Specifications

Under the hood is a 4-cylinder in-line turbocharged engine. A working volume of 2.0 liters allows you to achieve a power of 241 horsepower together with a torque of 501 N*m. The motor produces power and transmits it to the front wheels.

The engine is combined with a 7-band automatic transmission, which differs from the previous units by a double clutch. This feature made it possible to achieve an instant response of the engine to the driver’s commands. A six-speed DSG mechanical gearbox is also available. This option will not be extended for the 2024 model year.

The DSG transmission allows you to accelerate the car to the first hundred in 5.1 seconds!

To regulate the dynamics of movement, a special control manager is used, which controls the electronic differential lock and shock absorber elements.

Interior

For the Volkswagen Golf GTI model, sports seats with an exquisite design and upholstery are provided.

The cabin is quite comfortable and there is enough space even for tall passengers. The instrument panel is represented by a 10.3-inch digital screen. The multimedia system has a touch display with a diagonal of 10 inches. With one click, you can easily adjust not only the infotainment options, but also the climate. A driving mode is also available for selection.

The dashboard received touch elements for controlling the multimedia system and other options and got rid of traditional keys. The lack of illumination makes it somewhat difficult to use them in the dark.

Adjustment buttons, or more precisely, touch elements are located not only on the panel, but also on the remote control. The interior features automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel and a telescopic steering column that allows you to easily adjust the steering wheel position.

Comfort systems also include heated exterior mirrors, a windshield wiper, and the option of remote access to the car. The multimedia system is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto applications, which allows you to connect the systems with a smartphone.

The spacious trunk holds the necessary things for a long trip. Thanks to the folding of the rear row of seats in the ratio of 60/40, the space of the luggage compartment can be increased almost twice.

Safety systems

Volkswagen Golf GTI hatchback has a full set of safety options. Adaptive cruise control, frontal collision prevention, automatic emergency braking option, monitoring and lane keeping increase protection and security while driving. The car also has a rear cross traffic alert function and blind spot monitoring. The Emergency Assist option stops the car if the driver does not react.

In 2023, the manufacturer introduced several configurations: basic S, Autobahn Edition (starting at $39,400; 2.0 liter, 241 hp), 40th Anniversary Edition and SE. The last option is particularly popular.
