2021 Volkswagen ID.4 Owner's Manual
Volkswagen ID.4 (Volkswagen ID.4) is a rear- or all-wheel drive electric crossover of the “K1” class. The first generation of the model. It premiered online (from New York City) on September 23, 2020.
The ID.4 is Volkswagen’s first electric crossover brand and the second – after the ID.3 hatchback – “people’s car” based on a platform developed exclusively for electric cars. This is the so-called skateboard platform called MEB, which involves one or two electric motors (one on each axle; the basic ID.4 with one motor is rear-drive), as well as batteries of varying capacity.
The most long-range variant is ID.4 in configuration with one motor on the rear axle (204 hp and 310 Nm of torque) and 82-kilowatt battery (using 77 kW*h). Such an electric car on a single charge can travel up to 520 km (on the cycle WLTP), acceleration to the first 100 km / h takes 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 160 km. From the 125-kilowatt terminal, it takes 8 minutes to recharge the battery equivalent to 100 kilometers.
The ID.4 is difficult to confuse with other models of the brand: it uses styling typical exclusively of VW electric cars (first implemented in the ID.3 hatchback). Its characteristic features are smoother transitions on the body panels, concave inside of the hood, headlights in diode edging, and roof pillars in contrasting color. The ID.4 owners do not forget that it is a crossover, the model is equipped with unpainted plastic inserts around the circumference, the claimed clearance is 21 cm.
In all configurations, the front headlights are diode, but for an additional fee is available and matrix optics IQ.Light. At the rear there are also diode lights, united by a horizontal crosspiece. In more expensive versions, these lights are three-dimensional (diodes in the block are located a little away from each other)
