The 2019 VW Golf R is a compact 3-door or 5-door hatchback from the famous German automaker Volkswagen. The all-wheel drive car with a sporty character creates a worthy competition for such models as the Ford Focus RS, Honda Civic Type R and Subaru WRX STI.

After the update, the car received a new Spektrum color scheme, which opens up 40 options for painting the body of the new model. An optional Black Wheel package with 19-inch wheels is available.

Interior design

Externally, the car is easily recognizable by its tapered headlights and small spoiler. The taillights are partially located on the luggage compartment door.

The top-end and unique interior is repeated in the cabin. High-quality, upscale materials are used here. The standard equipment includes 12-way seat adjustment and climate control. The multimedia system is equipped with a clear interface and control system.

The center panel has an 8-inch touchscreen. The list of functions includes Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The car has an impressive trunk space and can accommodate up to 15 suitcases with the seats folded down. Voice control is available, including selecting contacts from a list.

The 2019 VW Golf R is all-wheel drive and has a powerful turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine under the hood. The displacement of the power unit is 2 liters, and the power output is 288 horsepower. The torque is 390 Nm.

The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, and a 7-speed automatic transmission with DSG is also available.

The Golf R model has a nimble chassis. It has a stiffer suspension compared to its predecessors. Standard adaptive shock absorbers add to the smoothness.
