Power plant in the Passat Variant GTE remains the same: 1.4 TSI (EA211) with 156 hp, 115 hp electric motor and 6-speed DSG (DQ-250) robot. Total output is 218 hp and 400 Nm. Only the traction battery is changed. Now its capacity is 13 kWh instead of 9.9 kWh. This increase increased range on pure electricity up to 55 km on a measuring system WLTP. In its predecessor, this indicator was 50 km according to the not very honest NEDC system.
