Volkswagen Atlas 2023 is a three-row mid-size crossover from the German manufacturer. The car company is in no hurry to create a new generation, instead it presented a representative after the second restyling. The cost of the basic configuration is about $35,500.

Among the main advantages of the car are a spacious interior, the availability of basic systems and technologies, and a fairly large trunk. The SUV will be an ideal solution for family trips and trips with friends. Despite the dimensions of the car, the crossover is quite maneuverable.

Exterior

As a result of the update, the car received larger headlights. Massive grille elements visually increased the front part of the crossover.

Three horizontal chrome lines are placed on the grille, which add dynamism and relevance to the model.

The rear lights smoothly transition to the lid of the luggage compartment. Massive wheel arches and wheels add brutality.

Interior design

The car has enough space for seven adult passengers to feel comfortable. The cabin has many niches and containers for storing small items, including cup holders. The design is restrained and does not impress with luxury.

The instrument panel is represented by an 8-inch digital display for the basic configuration.

On the central panel there is a 6.5-inch touchscreen multimedia screen for the basic configuration. An 8-inch display is available for more expensive versions. You can control the systems thanks to the support of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The audio system includes 6 speakers. A Wi-Fi access point is provided in the cabin, as well as 2 or 3 USB connectors, depending on the configuration. A panel for wireless phone charging is provided on the front console.

The luggage compartment is quite spacious and can hold up to 611 liters. The volume increases to 1571 liters thanks to the folded third row of seats.

2023 Volkswagen Atlas Specifications

Two engine options are available for the updated model. Volkswagen Atlas 2023 is equipped with a 4-cylinder in-line power unit with a working volume of 2.0 liters, the power of which is 235 horsepower. The line includes a more powerful motor. Under the hood of the crossover is a V-shaped 6-cylinder engine with a volume of 3.6 liters, which produces a power of 276 horsepower.

Both versions of the power units are equipped with an 8-band automatic transmission. Available front and all-wheel drive as an option.

Technical filling allows you to get sufficient power and a comfortable smooth ride. The car is obedient when driving on the highway and maneuverable on city streets. The suspension masterfully swallows all the irregularities of the surface.

The car reaches a speed of 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, which may seem quite a long time for fans of fast driving and powerful cars.

The wheelbase of the crossover is 2979 mm, while the ground clearance reaches 203 mm. Depending on the configuration, 18- and 20-inch wheels are available. In the model line, the manufacturer abandoned the Atlas S configuration.

The car has independent front and rear spring suspension. The crossover is equipped with disc brakes, the front element is ventilated.

VW Atlas 2023 Fuel Consumption

The average fuel consumption figure is 10.2 l or 11.2 l per 100 km for the 2.0 liters 4-cylinder turbocharged and 3.6 liters 6-cylinder engines, respectively. The maximum speed for the updated SUV is 190 km/h.

Comfort and safety systems

The 2023 VW Atlas crossover is equipped with climate control, a lane keeping function, and a rearview camera.

Monitoring of blind spots, the option of preventing a frontal collision, automatic emergency braking increases the level of safety of the driver and passengers, as well as pedestrians.

The car is available in a two- and three-row configuration. The car is available in five trim versions: basic SE, SE (Technology), SEL, as well as SEL in two top versions R-Line Black (FWD SUV) and sporty Premium R-Line (AWD).
