Powertrains include 1.5- and 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged gasoline engines and 2.0-liter turbodiesels. To optimize NOx emissions, the diesel units are equipped with a more advanced AdBlue system called Two Dosing, which should reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides by up to 80%. Different versions of the crossover are equipped with a six-speed “manual” or seven-speed “robot” DSG, the drive can be both front and all-wheel drive (4Motion). In the last case the car is completed also with differential with electronic blocking.

As an alternative to these power plants is a version eHybrid, in which 1.4-liter TSI works in tandem with electric motor (mounted in a six-speed “robot” DSG). The total output of the unit is 245 hp, and the lithium-ion battery is able to provide up to 50 kilometers of travel on pure electricity (on the cycle WLTP). The movement of such a car always starts on electric power, and the maximum speed of the crossover in electric mode is 130 km/h.
