But the main thing in cars with the “GTI” nameplate is the power unit paired with the transmission and chassis settings. After modernization, the Polo GTI will be equipped with the same 2.0-liter turbo engine EA888 as before with an increase of 7 horsepower (now the output is 207 hp and 320 Nm of torque). Henceforth the engine works with a seven-speed DSG instead of the previous six-speed robot. Combined, these changes have reduced acceleration to the first 100 km / h to 6.5 seconds (0.2 seconds faster compared to the restyling) and a maximum speed of 240 km / h (2 km / h).
